Balboa Workshop with Andrew & Emiliya + Balboa Beckons

Join Andrew and Emiliy for a workshop for improvers and above, focused on enhancing your ability to maintain flow and connection in both pure balboa and bal swing. They will provide leaders with tips and tricks for leading with a clear sense of direction, while follows will gain insights on maintaining momentum and flowing seamlessly through steps. Both Andrew and Emiliya have won numerous bal competitions and bring a wonderful enthusiasm and creativity to the dance floor.

The Teachers

Andrew Wilson is known for his enthusiasm and infectious energy both on the dance floor and in classes, creating comfortable conversational dances. A regular at European mix’n’match finals, Andrew has won the Studio Hop Fast Feet competition two years in a row and placed 2nd in the Advanced mix’n’match at Snowball and in the Battle of Rome Strictly.

Emiliya Bazlyankova is fascinated by the connection between mind, body and movement and has a keen focus on personal expression and creativity. She is one of the founders of the balboa scene in Bulgaria. A regular finalist at European balboa events, Emiliya has won numerous first and second place finishes, notably BalLove and Snowball.

Parking at Old Headington Village Hall 

If you are planning to come by car, there are some parking spaces at the hall (but please do not block entry to the hut at the back which belongs to the guides), and plenty more free parking less than half a mile away down the road: on Dunstan Road itself, or Foxwell Drive, Halliday Hill or Saxon Way.
