SlowBal is (as the name suggests!) danced to slower tempi: It is a wonderful flowy, sinuous dance and if you don't know it already we think you will love it as much as we do!
This workshop will cover the fundamentals and a range of moves and technique and will be multi-level, being suitable both for beginners and for those who already love SlowBal.
Schedule
11.45 doors open
12-2.15: SlowBal workshop (with short break in the middle)
2.30-6.00: Balboa Beckons social dance
The Teachers
Mel and Jo hardly need introduction: we are thrilled to have them teaching for us again. They are renowned international teachers of Balboa as well as being delightful teachers. They have superb technique and use their deep knowledge of dance and physical motion to understand and explain the nature of dance movement. Their engaging and positive attitude makes their classes not only informative but also hugely enjoyable. Their passion for SlowBal as well as balboa is simply infectious.
Parking at Old Headington Village Hall
If you are planning to come by car, there are some parking spaces at the hall (but please do not block entry to the hut at the back which belongs to the guides), and plenty more free parking less than half a mile away down the road: on Dunstan Road itself, or Foxwell Drive, Halliday Hill or Saxon Way.
